Membership Agreement

1. Parties

This Membership Agreement ("Agreement") governs the service use terms between Gökhan Camcı, content provider operating under the SOU brand (Istanbul, Türkiye), and the natural person using the application ("Member").

Important note: Paid membership fees are not collected directly by SOU. Payment processing is handled by Apple Distribution International Ltd. (Cork, Ireland) via Apple App Store In-App Purchase; these transactions are subject to a separate distance sales agreement between Apple and the Member under the Apple Media Services Terms.

2. Description of the Service

SOU is a private social network offering accepted members one curated introduction per week. The service comprises a one-time presentation of the Member's profile to another Member, the opening of a messaging channel upon a match, and access to House (city) events.

4. Subscription and Auto-Renewal (Apple 3.1.2 · EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU Art. 22)

Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date, the subscription will automatically renew at the same price and be charged to your Apple ID account. To cancel: App Store → Account → Subscriptions.

5. Right of Withdrawal (EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU Art. 16(m))

Once a digital content subscription is activated, you are deemed to have waived your 14-day right of withdrawal under Article 16(m) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU. This is disclosed clearly during the purchase flow and your acknowledgement is obtained.

6. Member Content — Licence

You retain ownership of the photographs, prompt answers, messages and other content you upload ("Member Content"). You grant SOU a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sub-licensable licence for the duration of your membership and for a reasonable period after account closure (30 days for backup/anonymisation purposes). This licence is restricted solely to:

7. Community Rules (House Code)

Detailed rules are presented within the application. The enforcement scale for breaches is: warning → 7-day suspension → permanent ban. A banned Member may appeal within 14 days of the ban date by writing to appeal@souprivate.com.

8. Account Closure (GDPR Art. 17)

You may close your account at any time from within the application. Your data will be held in soft-delete for 30 days (to allow for reinstatement), after which it will be permanently destroyed. Reports are retained in anonymised form for the applicable statutory retention period (3 years).

9. Limitation of Liability

SOU is not responsible for the outcome of interactions between Members. Members bear their own responsibility for relationships arising from a match. SOU's sole obligation is to provide a safe introduction environment.

10. Dispute Resolution (EU Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU · ODR Platform)

In the event of a dispute, you may refer the matter to the competent consumer dispute resolution body in your country of residence or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Arbitration is not provided for.
